Mangalis Hotel Group joins The Code

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, Mangalis Hotel Group joined The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism (The Code). The Code, based in Bangkok, Thailand, is an industry-driven corporate responsible tourism initiative that provides awareness, tools and support to tourism companies in order to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.

By joining The Code, the Mangalis Hotel Group is showing its support to help eradicate the problem of child sexual exploitation within the travel industry. They are setting a great example to other travel and tourism professionals,” said Matthias Leisinger, Chairman of the Board at The Code.

Mangalis Hotel Group will inaugurate the first upscale flagship Noom Hotel Conakry in Guinea, set to open in Q1 2015. This will be followed in Q2 by the first highly innovative Yaas Hotel in Les Almadies in Dakar in the economy segment.  Additional hotels in Pointe Noire, Cotonou and Abidjan will be opened in the second semester of 2015, under both the Noom and Seen brands.

Since joining The Code in, Mangalis has agreed to fulfill six specific criteria that address the issues of child protection and turn them into concrete actions that help keep children safe within the travel and tourism industry.
