Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking (Canada)
Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking has developed an awareness initiative aimed at hospitality professionals and conference planners in Canada: Human Trafficking in Our Backyard: A Conversation (https://reg.eventmobi.com/MPIAHT2023). The initiative consists of the development of online & in-person presentations at trade shows, industry conferences, and Meeting Professionals International Canada. It is promoted by an alliance between the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking, Voice Found, a tourism bureau and Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking. The objective is to create awareness within the industry that this crime is happening not only “over there” but also in our “own backyard”.
The “Conversations” are disseminated by social media, word of mouth, and references from the academy, among others.
